The configuration for master/slave is based on a jumper on the back of the hard drive. Generally there's a few pins, and somewhere on the drive it will tell you which pins to put the jumper on to make it master.
However, the hard drive from computer A (bad pc, good hd) should already be master (or set to cable select). So, when you put it into computer B (good pc, bad hd), connect the good hd to the same IDE cable connecter that computer B's bad hard drive was using and you should be good.
Because, whether the moved hard drive is set to Master or Cable Select, you've solved both by using the master connector on the IDE cable in computer B.
