most everything will work with vista. there are some hardware/driver issues but a lot of that has been resolved. You can run pretty much anything on Vista that you can run on XP

There is not very much that's compatable with Vista, including other Microsoft programs.

My suggestion is to stay with XP for a while longer
That depends. We recently bought a laptop for our kids to do school work and play games. After we had trouble getting ANY of the games to work,( they all worked fine on XP,) we called Dell. We were told that we would have to go to the website of the manufacturer of EACH game, and see if they had drivers that would make the game compatible with Vista. We were also told that after going through all of this time and trouble, they estimated that about 30% of the games would still not play on Vista! Needless to say we requested a call tag, and the laptop was returned. Evidently all new computers will come with Vista unless you strongly request XP.
