Close caption for Windows 2000?

I dont have speakers. Is there a way to use closed captioning to understand dialog provided by audio? What program do you suggest?

Unfortunately, closed captioning works because the television data being broadcast carries some text information with it... it's not taking the sound and turning it into text. If you're watching movies, you may be able to turn on subtitles.

The best solution would probably be to get a cheap pair of headphones... they should plug into the same place speakers would. If you have a portable CD player, iPod or other such device, you may already have something that'd work.
