Date & time discrepancy in windows 2000 pro?

I try to check for updates on microsoft but get the error that my date %26amp; time is wrong. IT IS NOT !!as far as control panel is concerned,I've checked in the internet options too and I ran those 4 files microsoft suggested.

Reboot your pc and just as it starts click on F1 the first thing there is CMOS. Click on that and check the date. If it is wrong you can change it by using the + and - keys and arrow keys to move up and down. When you are satisfied with the date then scroll down to "exit". when it asks if you want to save your changes click "yes". It should work now. (time is usually army; ex: 3:45 would be 15:45

Don't install any additional softwares and get yourself into trouble. The best way to change the time is, go to BIOS and change the date and time. Save the settings and restart the unit. It will work fine. Its an issue with your CMOS battery.
Double click the clock in the lower right hand corner. Click on the TimeZone tab and fix it if necessary. Click on the main tab again and change the date and time as needed. Click OK.

Don't go into the BIOS unless you really need to, and you don't in this case.
