How can i upgrade windows 2000 os with xp?

If you feed the XP disk in while you have your Windows 2000 opened, it will ask you or have an option for you to choose upgrade.

Then follow the prompt and questions to continue.

Do you want to dual boot 2000 with xp or do you want to completely replace 2000 with xp ?

Also make sure to back up your data ( obviously the option you choose will effect what happens )

I suggest you do a clean install if you just want xp, if you want to dual boot with 2000 and xp, then I suggest you boot from the xp disc by setting the cd rom drive as the first boot device in the bios and go through the installation process but when it gets to the screen where it asks you where do you want to install it, install it on a different partition ( obviously you will have to partition your hard drive if it isnt already partitioned ) Unless you have a seperate hard drive, in which case just install it on the other secondary hard drive.
